The word endoculturation comes from the Greek which means within and which comes from the Latin, culture . Its lexical component is the suffix tion , which means action and effect . It is a process by means of which the generations of our antiquity are in charge of transmitting their way of thinking, acting, their thoughts, customs and knowledge to the generations that are beginning to form or that are young. It is the cultural transfer that goes from one to another, from generation to generation, based largely on the control that generationsolder can exercise over the others to give rewards or punishments to children. Each of these generations has been programmed to copy the behavior that best characterizes them, but also to give rewards to the behaviors that follow their line.

Characteristics of endoculturation

• It is based mainly on the control that the older generation exercises over the other generations to give rewards or punishments to children.
• It can make the culture move continuously.

• It is based on two different parts: one is the family and the other, the school.
• The school is responsible for culturally guiding people to the external world and also plays a very important role in creating the values ​​that form both men and women.

Limitations of endoculturation

It may be the case that conflicts are formed , this because the party receiving the information could feel that things or thoughts are imposed on them with which they do not agree.

The situation can be presented in which young people want to get away from their culture , mainly when we refer to the religious part, thus, they want to become independent and desert at the end of their countries of origin to act from that moment on according to their own instincts.

Examples of endoculturation

An example of endoculturation will be the one that occurs in some cultures of Asian countries , these children were taught to speak in two languages ​​or eat in a specific and different way from the rest. There are many examples that can tell us about endoculturation, but an easy one to mention and remember is that of the conquest of America , when it took place, there was a cultural clash between the Spanish and all the American indigenous cultures, which they were forced to change after the invasion. Although in this case, those who were acculturated are the American peoples, the Europeans also incorporated American customs, such as smoking, or the consumption of certain foods (corn, potatoes, tomatoes, cocoa, etc.).
