Biography of Eiji Aonuma

Eiji Aonuma was born in 1963 , in Nagano Prefecture , Japan . He carried out a series of studies at the National University of Fine Arts and Music in Tokyo, where he specialized in design, and where he made a series of works with mechanical figures in motion. He graduated from said university in 1988.

Thanks to the ingenuity and creativity shown in these figures, he got a job at the famous company known as Nintendo . It was precisely in this company where he began to work on his first title, Marvelous: Another Treasure Island  (1996). A few years later, he was invited to join the development team for the Zelda series and it was at this time that he began work on three Zelda titles, all published consecutively : Ocarina of Time (1998), Majora’s Mask (2000), and Wind. Waker (2002).

Eiji Aonuma also worked as a co-developer on  Link’s Crossbow , the first game to use the Wii Zapper . Since then, he has produced The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Wii, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for Nintendo 3DS, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
